Now that the Name Change Petition Packet process has been completed we are ready to update the remaining documents. You do not need to do all of these. But we recommend that you at least change the name on the applicant’s birth certificate, driver’s license, and social security card.
It is important that the applicant’s name is consistent across all government agencies. Otherwise it could cause issues at some point.
